Super Mega Baseball 2 Closed Beta and First Online Multiplayer Details

Super Mega Baseball was one of the best games of the year when it launched in late 2014. Now, nearly four years later, developer Metalhead Software is giving fans a chance to check out the sequel before it launches later this spring.

Launching over the next couple of weeks, Super Mega Baseball 2 will enter a closed beta on Xbox One. The beta will allow those selected to experience the game’s new presentation as well as enjoy a couple of modes: Exhibition and Pennant Race.

“We’ve tackled an ambitious feature set on Super Mega Baseball 2 and view this Closed Beta as a way to make sure the game and its online systems are ready to party on launch day,” said Metalhead Co-Founder Scott Drader said in a release. “We expect we’ll get plenty of fantastic feedback that will help us polish and balance the experience on the way to the launch of the full game.”

Those interested in signing up for the closed beta can do so here.

In addition to the announcement of the beta, the team released a brand new trailer to show off the game’s brand new online multiplayer feature. You can find more details on their new head to head and online co-op modes in our video above.
