Valen Studios will Close the Doors on Knockout City This Summer

Knocked out.

Game Director for Knockout City, Jeremy Russo, shared a lengthy blog post earlier today. The post on the games website shared that Knockout City‘s servers will be shut down on June 6.

Knockout City Servers Shut Down

Season 9 will be the last update for Knockout City before the servers shut down. Game Director Jeremy Russo shared his thoughts on the decision and the future of the series.

“Today we are announcing that Season 9 will be Knockout City’s final season,” Russo said. “Then, on the morning of June 6, 2023, over two years after our initial launch, all servers around the world will be shut down, and the game will no longer be playable.”

“Before that happens, there are many new updates in store. We’ve got a jam-packed Season 9 full of all the amazing new content you’ve come to expect, an epic send-off both in and out of the game, and even a private server version on PC so Knockout City can live on forever.”

The shutdown of Valen Studios’ dodgeball game comes right off the hills of Rumbleverse shutting down. So, it hasn’t been the best week for these two communities. However, Knockout City receiving its own private server is a plus and will ensure that the game stays playable for years to come.

Join the fun while you can

Knockout City is a 3v3 dodgeball game with similar mechanics to shooting games. What gamers enjoyed the most was its fast-paced gameplay and emphasis on teamwork. Since the game’s launch, its gained over 2 million players and even won SGO’s Best New Franchise. I recommend giving the game a try before it shuts down in June.
