When WrestleQuest was announced during last year’s ID@Xbox showcase, our writers here at Sports Gamers Online were so excited. WrestleQuest is a retro-style wrestling RPG, which sounds fun and fresh. While the hype for Mega Cat’s newest wrestling game has slowed down, we are still awaiting the game’s release to sink our teeth into it. However, fans will have to wait longer because WrestleQuest has officially been delayed to Summer 2023.

WrestleQuest Delayed to Summer 2023
In a Twitter post made by Mega Cat Studios, the company announced that the game is in the final stretch of development and needs more time. WrestleQuest has endured over four years of development and countless hours of playtesting.
“We cannot wait for you all to finally jump in and explore all of WrestleQuest. After 4+ years, a 200K+ original word count, many powerbombs to settle disputes, and countless gallons of baby oil, we’re down to the final stretch of development.”
According to Mega Cat Studios, a new partnership led to the decision to delay the game into the Summer; however, the company does expect to have a new release date for WreslteQuest soon.
“As we raced towards the finish line to bring this giant game across all platforms, we also have secured a new partnership we are extremely excited about. Unfortunately, this development also resulted in certain issues outside of our control. As such, we wanted to get an update out to everyone that has continued to wave their foam fingers in anticipation.”
I think everyone can understand the circumstances at Mega Cat Studios, and we can wait a little longer for WrestleQuest to be completed. After all, I’m sure fans want a finished wrestling RPG at its full potential.
