Over the weekend, information made its way online about WWE 2K22, including the game’s release date, cover athlete, and special editions. Now, even more WWE 2K22 leaks are starting to make their way out thanks to early — now mostly removed — postings on various retail outlets.
This year’s game will feature five DLC content packs featuring various superstars. The superstars aren’t known as of this writing, but SGO is working on trying to find out who the wrestlers will be. The DLC packs are included in the game’s Season Pass, which also features the MyCAREER Mega-Boost and SuperCharger Packs. Those interested in the season pass will be able to either purchase it separately or have it included in the WWE 2K22 Deluxe Edition or WWE 2K22 nWo 4-Life Edition.
On top of the game’s DLC plans, it’s been confirmed that this year’s 2K Showcase will center around the game’s cover athlete Rey Mysterio. Players in the mode will be able to relieve some of the Mysterio’s biggest moments including the 2006 Royal Rumble, his win at WrestleMania 22, his return to WWE in 2018, and more.
Lastly, while not surprising, is more on how the new MyFACTION mode will work. The mode will allow you to create a faction with the goal of becoming the most dominant in WWE history. Within the mode itself, players will be able to “collect, manage, and upgrade” wrestlers by way of weekly events and regular content updates. A reminder, 2K Sports confirmed that this would be the only mode that microtransactions could play a role, and that it is a single player-only game mode.
SGO is working to independently verify the latest leaks but can’t do so just yet. Until either we confirm all of it as 100% true or 2K Sports makes the announcement themselves, please remember to take all of this with a grain of salt.
