The WWE 2K23 Community Creations That You Need

WWE 2K23 CAWs original created

Visual Concepts continue to release DLC for us fans to build our dream rosters with. Though, it isn’t the only way for fans to get their hands on quality content. The WWE 2K content creators have always been some of the best, delivering professional quality wrestlers worthy of being in official DLC packs. With 100s of new uploads daily, we at Sports Gamers Online decided to highlight some of the best each fortnight. With this being the first of the series, we’ll highlight the best of the best until now.

10 must-have community creations

The first CAW will be one of the best I’ve seen in any WWE 2K. I don’t typically build a full AEW roster because it would take so much time to do but of course, I always download those I’m a big fan of. Created by TheOnlyOmegaMan, this MJF looks better than the MJF from the official AEW: Fight Forever release.

Some faces are tough to create in games, and you look through all the best ones and none of them tickle your fancy. This MJF stands out amongst a sea of okay attempts at making a realistic Maxwell. Considering his contract situation, fans may be seeing MJF as an official wrestler in WWE 2K24. If this was the model included in the game, I don’t think many people would complain about how it looks.

The biggest WWE 2K free agent

A roster that is stacked with talent from Raw, Smackdown, and NXT, is missing one big name. Isla Dawn is one of the only wrestlers from the main show missing in WWE 2K23. After speed-running NXT, earning a main roster callup in under 8 months. It’s understandable how she missed out on being included by Visual Concepts. Luckily for her fans, DivaDadd-e was quick with adding a stunning rendition to the CC.

Wrestlers aren’t the only top-quality creations being made

It’s not only high quality realistic wrestlers being added to the CC, some add fun characters. No, I’m not talking about the Donald Trump and Spongebob Squarepants creations. I’m talking about characters from other franchises such as Mortal Kombat or Marvel. Jzero has some of the cleanest additions on this front.

Pretty badass, I know. I’m a simulation-style player, so I usually download for that reason. Though, anyone who is there for fantasy fun will need to check out other content made by Jzero. Each year WWE 2K fans ask for more CAW slots, having 100 already allows for a lot of choice. If they can deliver more than in the next game, it could push content creators to be even more creative with their ideas, and I can only imagine what else we may see on the CC.

Out of WWE but never 2K

Having one of the most dedicated fanbases will ensure your creation in every WWE 2K game. Previously known as Sasha Banks, Mercedes Mone is one of the most talked about free agents. No matter what happened with WWE, she will always have a fanbase that follows her throughout her career. Brandishing a completely new look along with a change of name, her debut in NJPW could have left you wondering how hard it is to make a realistic Mercedes Mone. Well, notzaddik made it look easy.

Downloading different eras

Now, I did say I am a simulation focused player. This means realism is key to my immersion, and my immersion is key to my enjoyment. Though, there are a few places I bend reality a bit. Making Stone Cold and The Rock return for Royal Rumbles and WrestleMania is one of them. Another is having a slightly different era of a wrestler included in my universe. Instead of having modern HBK return for the Royal Rumble, it’ll be his 2006 version. Instead of having Alpha Academy Gable, it’ll be American Alpha. Being one of my all-time favourites, CM Punk is one of the main CAWs I wait on. Though, MisterFiendX created an official 2K quality UFC-era Punk. Not the highlight of his career but it serves as a perfect “what if he never left?” question.

Original creations are underrated and underused

Depending on how you view each division in WWE, you may want to take a look at original creations. If you feel the women’s tag or men’s hardcore divisions don’t have enough talent you personally like, you can fill it out with originals. Improved face scanning has continued to benefit the 2K community as we get more official-looking CAWs. AI is here to bring us to the next level of immersion. Not only can creators now make realistic-looking original characters but they can include a lifelike render making them feel like actual people somewhere out there in the wrestling world. One of the best for this is Thundy, many of the top original female characters I’ve seen on the CC are made by this creator, and for good reason. Thundy uses ChatGPT to create a background for his characters, which is perfect for anyone needing that immersion in their universe.

Community creations keep us up to date

Many people use CC to keep their universe updated. As new wrestlers are debuting every year, gimmicks are being changed, and people are making returns. The crew over at Visual Concepts can’t quite keep the game updated by the month. This is where the community steps in. New outfits are uploaded days after we see them, but that’s not all. Wrestlers that make sudden returns are uploaded for everyone to use. Backlash was one of the best premium live events in recent years in part because of the Puerto Rican crowd. Carlito returning had me check out the CC for him but none quite hit like MisterFiendX. Considering reports of Carlito signing a new deal with WWE, this CAW could be getting a lot of use in your universe in the near future.

It’s not only wrestlers

The CC offers more than just wrestlers. Some of the most downloaded content are championships. This slot was almost given to the creation of the new World Heavyweight Championship. But with it being the number one downloaded title, I assume everyone on WWE 2K knows it exists. So, I went with an arena. Judgement Day 2004 has an iconic look, and many who were watching wrestling back then will always remember how it looked. Here is NexGenGamers’ creation of that famous arena.

WWE 2K23 community creation finale

This is usually where every article says “the best for last”, but we’ll miss out on that cliché and say every addition on this list was of top quality. Someone that could easily be WWE or AEW, is Christian. His most recent turtleneck look is what ikeakarl went for. Though, it does offer his wrestling gear as a second choice. Christian has always been a menace on the mic and you can opt to have Christian be the wrestler or mouthpiece with his outfit.

This completes the first in this series. Every fortnight another 5-10 creations will be highlighted as they deserve to be.
