EA: Nintendo Has Listened

Shortly after the recent Nintendo Switch event EA executive vice president Patrick Soderlund spoke about the relationship Nintendo have with 3rd party game publishers in an interview.

“I only spoke about FIFA today, but our company’s structure lets us release all sorts of games for every platform, so we’ll go wherever the gamers go. I think Nintendo Switch will put Nintendo at the forefront of the game industry once again. “

I think that first part of the statement tells me that they are currently playing it cautious, but if the Nintendo Switch sells well, we will see more games from EA on the Nintendo Switch. Patrick Soderlund goes on to say more.

“Their approach is quite different from anything they’ve done in the past – they’ve listened to EA, Activision, and other companies since the beginning of the Switch’s development, so we’ve been involved throughout the whole process. They teamed up with us because they wanted to guarantee the console would be successful. Doing business with Nintendo is very important for us… We’d like to bring more and more games over for everyone.”

This could be exciting news for anyone that is looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch. I get the impression that EA will port their biggest franchise that is FIFA to the Nintendo Switch to see what kind of impact it has on sales. If FIFA sells well, I think we will see games like Madden NFL and UFC make it’s way to the Nintendo Switch.
