Was a New Feature for Madden NFL 25 Revealed at the Pro Bowl?

This past weekend was the Pro Bowl Games. This was the second iteration of a new series of games and skill competitions that replaced the regular Pro Bowl game last year. Like last year, the NFC came out victorious over the AFC. However, during the practices leading up to the games, one Pro Bowler may have let slip a new feature coming to Madden NFL 25.

Tattoos Coming to Madden?

In a video posted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneeers X account over the weekend, we got to see All-Pro tackle Tristan Wirfs talking to his NFC teammates. Wirfs was making his third straight appearance in the Pro Bowl, after being selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

During the video, Wirfs mentions how much he loves Madden and EA Sports. Wirfs apparently loves EA Sports so much that he has the logo tattooed on his forearm. He says that he got the tattoo after he was drafted because he was excited about being in the game. During the video, an EA Sports employee shows up and tells Wirfs that he can go get scanned into the game. Afterwards, Wirfs tells one of his teammates “I went and did the body scan. My tattoos will be in the game.”

Now this is far from actual confirmation that tattoos will be in the next entry of Madden NFL. However, Wirfs was referring to it as a body scan instead of just a face scan, which it has usually been called in the past. Maybe this is because EA Sports is now scanning players’ full bodies in order to include their unique tattoos on their player models.

If tattoos do come back, they would be a great addition. In the PS2/Xbox Madden NFL titles, players could go to a tattoo shop in Superstar mode to get custom tattoos. This is a feature many fans have asked EA Sports to bring back. Meanwhile, NBA 2K has had extensive tattoo customization options for years now.

We will just have to wait and see if player tattoos are indeed making a comeback in Madden NFL 25.
