This week, EA Sports F1 23 announced several new content updates that will be coming to the game in the coming weeks. These include new in-game items and challenges for players to complete, as well as new drivers and designs.

The first piece of new content is coming on September 26, when a new time trial challenge will arrive in the game. Players will race against World Champion Max Verstappen as they try to beat his time of 1:28:177.  Players who complete this challenge will earn the Formula 1 Lenovo Japanese Grand Prix 2023 helmet. This helmet features the new EA Sports FC logo, ahead of the game’s launch on September 29. This challenge will be followed by three others throughout the month of October to keep players engaged during the month.

The Evolution of Competitive Play in Sports Gaming Communities

The biggest update comes on October 16. The F2 2023 season will be added for free for all players. Alongside this will be the game’s livery update, which updates car designs based on recent real-world changes made by teams and drivers. Lucas Blakeley, the reigning 2022 Formula 1 Esports Series Champion, will also be added as an Icon in the game.

Lee Mather, Codemasters’ Senior Creative Director, said “We have collaborated closely with the Formula 1 team to introduce our enhanced sports livery update. Each team has made unique modifications to the cars, encompassing geometry, bodywork, and sponsors to ensure fans enjoy the most authentic F1 racing experience. Additionally, we are delighted to announce that players can now participate in the thrilling 14-round Formula 2 season, competing against prominent drivers such as Théo Pourchaire, Frederik Vesti, and Ayumu Iwasa.”

Finally, new Replay Events like the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2023 and Formula 1 Lenovo United States Grand Prix 2023 will let fans relive races by controlling any of the 20 playable drivers with identical grid placings. Also, Scenario Events featuring drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez will be included in the October updates.
