EA Sports PGA Tour Gameplay Trailer Breakdown, Game Launches March

EA's newest golf game tees off this March.

Electronic Arts have slowly unveiled its newest golf game, EA Sports PGA Tour. Since the game’s first announcement back in 2021, information on the game has been scarce for the most part. Except for a few licensing deals and sneak peeks of EA’s progress. However, we finally got an official gameplay breakdown of EA Sports PGA Tour and a release date of March 24, 2023

EA Sports PGA Tour Gameplay Breakdown

Pure Strike

Electronic Arts are introducing Pure Strike to EA Sports PGA Tour series. Pure Strike is accompanied by 20 shot types and is influenced by ShotLink and Tackman data. EA Sports PGA Tour will incorporate fluid swing mechanics, ball behavior, and course dynamics to create the most realistic golf experience.

EA also captured stances from every pro golfer to bring variety and authenticity to its newest golf game. Every golfer will play like their real-life counterpart and have different swings and attributes.

Shot Types

PGA Tour will feature 1300 shot variations, giving players many ways to modify their shot types. In the trailer, EA showcased some basic shot types, such as punch, pitch, and blast. In addition, shot styles like a high flop and the Texas wedge will be used in specific situations on the course.

Returning Mechanics

Some mechanics from previous titles will be returning to the series, such as power boost, spin control, big hit, and heartbeat moments. I like heartbeat moments because it adds a dramatic effect when trying to nail the perfect hole-in-one.

EA Sports PGA Tour will launch on March 24, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
