Today, EA Sports announced a ton of new information about their upcoming College Football video game. The upcoming title is one of the most anticipated sports video game releases in history. Now, a lot of the questions fans have been asking for a while have finally been answered.
We’re In the Game
On Thursday, EA Sports announced that all 134 FBS teams will officially be included in College Football 25. Along with those teams, players will now be able to opt into being featured in the game. According to a report from Michael Rothstein with ESPN this morning, players who do choose to be featured in the game will receive $600, plus a free copy of the game. EA Sports will provide more opportunities for athletes to earn NIL compensation. These could include promotional opportunities before the game’s launch.
We also learned about some of the announcers and commentators for the game. Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, David Pollack, Jesse Palmer, Desmond Howard, and Kevin Connors all confirmed on social media that they will be featured. With this many sports media personalities included, some have speculated that the game might include multiple broadcast teams.
One group that will not be in the game at launch are FCS schools. EA Sports’ senior VP Daryl Holt told ESPN that no FCS will be included when the game launches. Also, the coaches for the 134 FBS will not be included in the game this year. Holt also said that players would not have actual face scans this year, and will instead have created faces that “create a representative likeness of the player.”
Holt said that if a player chooses not to opt into the game, that position will be filled by a generic player. This generic player will be based on the traditional makeup of players at that position for that school over the past several seasons. Also, while players will be able to create their own players, they will not be able to create players who have opted-out and insert them into the game. Holt did not reveal how EA Sports is enforcing this.
Dynasty and Road to Glory Features
We also got a few details about some features that will be present in the game’s Dynasty and Road to Glory modes. First, NIL will play a part in these modes. While exact details were not given, it is nice to see that such a big part of the current landscape of college football will be included. Likewise, the transfer portal and conference realignment were also confirmed for these modes, but no further details were given. The College Football Playoff and every current bowl game will also be included in the game.
More details are set to be revealed about the game this spring. In May, EA Sports will hold their full reveal for the game.
The anticipation for EA Sports’ College Football 25 is reaching new heights with exciting announcements. The inclusion of all 134 FBS teams, the option for players to be featured with compensation, and renowned announcers like Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler add depth to the gaming experience. While FCS schools won’t be in the initial launch, the promise of NIL involvement, transfer portal, and conference realignment in Dynasty and Road to Glory modes enhances gameplay. The absence of coaches’ inclusion this year and generic player representation for those opting out ensures a comprehensive and realistic gaming environment. Looking forward to the full reveal in May. check this website https://www.pangea.global/game-localization-sevices/
