For soccer fans looking forward to FIFA 18, some news recently dropped that might slow the hype train for you if you will be playing it on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360.
EA’s Frostbite engine, which EA has used since 2013 on various games such as Madden NFL 18, Need for Speed, Battlefield 1, and Dragon Age: Inquisition, is the preferred engine for the company. However, the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 will not run on the Frostbite engine. What this means for the gameplay itself is still uncertain, but it could affect how players experience it on the system.
In addition, the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 18 will not contain The Journey Mode. And unfortunately for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users, they will also lack this game mode.
With EA PLAY starting this Friday, we will hopefully get some more details on what this can mean for the different versions of the game and how it affects players before the week is over.
