Forza Horizon 5 Confirms Hot Wheels DLC at Xbox Showcase

As previously leaked and reported, Forza Horizon 5 announced a new Hot Wheels DLC pack at the Xbox Bethesda Games Showcase. The trailer, set to a classic Me First & The Gimmie Gimmies ska cover, shows several Hot Wheels-themed cars racing around iconic orange Hot Wheels tracks. The DLC will be available on July 19.

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels DLC

The Hot Wheels DLC leaked as an addition to the Premium Add-Ons bundle a few days ago on Steam. According to the now official Steam page, the Forza Horizon Hot Wheels bundle will include 10 new cards, including the iconic 2000 Hot Wheels Deora II and the 2021 Hennessey Venom F5. The DLC adds Horizon Hot Wheels Park, which looks gorgeous in photos. Track creators will also gain access to 80 distinct Hot Wheels track pieces. That’s a lot of customization!

A truly breathtaking view of a track in the Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels expansion.

The Hot Wheels DLC adds a ton of flavor to a racing game that already won our 2021 Game of the Year, Best Racing Game, and Best AAA Game. It’s a game we’d recommend in a heartbeat.

Personally, I’m a sucker for the Hot Wheels racing game crossovers. There’s something about tiny cars racing on the giant orange track that fires every synapse in my brain. I’m glad that HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED’s existence hasn’t ended Forza and Hot Wheels’ long-standing partnership. This also means that a collaboration with the new upcoming Forza Motorsports is still on the table.

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels lands on July 19. The expansion costs $19.99 on its own, but will be included with the Forza Horizon 5 Premium Editions and the Premium Add-Ons Bundle.
