Greatest Sports Video Game Tournament: Sweet 16 Voting

Greatest Sports Video Game Sweet Sixteen

After an exciting and surprising first two rounds of voting, we’ve reached the Sweet Sixteen in the tournament to determine the greatest sports video game of all time.

After some major upsets in round one, the second round proved to be just as exciting with #14 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe continuing its cinderella run by knocking off #6 Tiger Woods 2004. On the other side of the bracket, #12 College Hoops 2K8 beat #4 FIFA 09 in a landslide upset with 78% of the votes.

In a surprise to absolutely no one, all four number one seeds — Tecmo Super Bowl, NHL 94, ESPN NFL 2K5, and NBA 2K11 — all moved on with easy in their matchups. Of the four, however, it’ll be Tecmo Super Bowl facing the toughest task going up against what the readers feel is clearly the best wrestling game of all-time, the N64’s WWF No Mercy.

So now it’s time for the real battles; It’s time for the Sweet Sixteen!

Remember, the game that comes out the winner will get a full retrospective video on the SGO Channel.
