Little League World Series Baseball 2022 Announced Just in Time for Summer

The Little League World Series (LLWS) is an annual tradition, where kids from across the globe compete in one of summer’s most wholesome and beloved pastimes. Fans and gamers will soon be able to get in on the action. IguanaBee announced Little League World Series Baseball 2022 last week.

This new title is being developed by IguanaBee and published by GameMill Entertainment. IguanaBee is a Chilean based studio that has been around since 2011. Their previous games include Headsnatchers and G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout. GameMill Entertainment published the latter of these games, as well as Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Nickelodeon Kart Racers, and Nerf Legends.

Back in the Game

In the official announcement on the LLWS website, Little League Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Liz DiLullo Brown said, “as we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Little League Baseball World Series this August, Little League is pleased to re-enter the gamin space and highlight the fun and excitement of the tournament in a digital experience.” This will be the first LLWS video game in 12 years. Activision published three previous LLWS games that released from 2008-2010.

Swing for the Fences

This new arcade style game seems to feature a full tournament mode where players can make their run all the way to Williamsport. The announcement trailer for the game, posted to GameMill Entertainment’s YouTube channel, showed off several creative stadiums and some fun gameplay. The sound of the metal bats with each swing was very satisfying to the ear. The special abilities in the game also look like fun and bring back memories of the Backyard Baseball games.

Little League World Series Baseball 2022 is now available to pre-order for $49.99. The game will release August 17 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
