Another week, another MLB The Show 22 content and roster update. At this point, these weekly content drops have started to get a bit repetitive as we head into the dog days of summer. There seems to always be a Nike City Connect Jersey Program, a new Headliner pack, one or two small additions to the Featured Program to help earn another 10,000 XP or so, and a new event or other program whose rewards will be worth very little in terms of stubs within a few days.
MLB The Show 22 “Brew Crew” Update
Takashi Choice Pack Set 2
This week’s content has all of that, plus a little something new. A set of 5 new Takashi Okazaki Series cards has arrived. This new choice pack features three players in the base round at 93 OVR:
- SS Ozzie Smith
- CP Eric Gagne
- C Ivan Rodriguez
This pack also has a 1:5 chance of getting one of the two rare cards that are 96 OVR rated:
- LF Alfonso Soriano
- SP Bob Feller
This will help players who are close to finishing the Takashi collection in order to get the 97 OVR Babe Ruth. This pack is only available in the Show Shop for 30,000 stubs.
MLB The Show 22 Roster Update
Two weeks ago we brought you the big story that Aaron Judge had surpassed Mike Trout to become the highest rated player in MLB The Show 22. Well, what happened after Judge hit .280/.362/.600 with a .962 OPS, 5 HRs and 8 RBIs? SDS decided to downgrade him.
SDS has taken a strange approach to roster updates so far this year. After being slow to move guys up or down without merit in years past, they now seem trigger happy to mess with player ratings. Mike Trout has gone back up to a 95 OVR, reclaiming the crown of highest rated player. But in all honestly, it was strange he ever lost it in the first place.
This year’s roster updates have been most frustrating at the Diamond/Gold cutoff point. Four players this week were moved up to Diamond:
- Red Sox 3B Rafael Devers (85 OVR)
- Mets CP Edwin Diaz (86 OVR)
- Angels CP Raisel Iglesias (85 OVR)
- Giants SP Carlos Rodon (85 OVR)
Three of these four have already been promoted to and then demoted from Diamond earlier this year. The fact that these guys moved up to Diamond when we have already seen them do it and lost it this year makes it a lot less exciting, and these upgrades don’t seem to make much sense.
For example, Iglesias regains Diamond status, despite having a 4.24 ERA with 12 saves and 33 strikeouts in 23.1 innings. Meanwhile, Pirates CP David Bednar is only an 84 OVR while having a 1.30 ERA, 11 saves and 48 strikeouts in 34.2 innings. Somebody please make this make sense to me.
Milwaukee Brewers Nike City Connect Program
Yet another Nike City Connect program has arrived. Which means its time to grind for another card that will never see the lineup and another jersey that our teams will never wear. This time, the program features the Milwaukee Brewers, with their powder blue “Brew Crew” jerseys. Players will complete moments and parallel XP missions to earn this, packs, and a 92 OVR Topps Now Freddy Peralta.
Topps Now Moments
The next set of Topps Now cards have arrived in the game as we approach the end of the June Monthly Awards Program. This week, four new 91 OVR Diamond cards have come to the game for players to work towards. These new cards include:
- Braves SP Spencer Strider
- Marlins RF Jerar Encarnacion
- Cardinals SP Miles Mikolas
- Tigers CF Riley Greene
Collecting these, as well as the June Topps Now cards from the previous weeks, will earn players a 93 OVR Pirates LF Jack Suwinski.
Headliners Set 25
We are now up to 25 different Headliners sets. The newest Headliner is 95 OVR Postseason Jimme Foxx.
Double XP Days
Double Featured Program XP is now active in MLB The Show 22. From now through June 30th, players will earn double gameplay XP in any mode they play in MLB The Show 22. This will help players who may be behind on the Future of the Franchise Program, which ends next week.

I am making $92 an hour working from home. i was greatly surprised at the same time as my neighbour advised me she changed into averaging $ninety five however I see the way it works now. I experience mass freedom now that I’m my non-public boss. That is what I do… http://www.richzone9.com
