When NASCAR Heat 5 and beyond are released, players may notice a small but important change with the development of the game.

After years of working alongside Monster Games on the series, 704 Games has brought full development of the NASCAR Heat franchise in-house moving forward. The news was confirmed to Sports Gamers Online via email.

“704Games has an internal development team and they worked very closely on NASCAR Heat 4. We have made the decision for the future projects to bring development in-house with 704Games.”

The question of Monster Games’ removal from development began when Tony Stewart’s Sprint Car Racing was announced. In the release, Monster Games was called the “former developer” on the NASCAR Heat series.

704 Games has worked on the NASCAR series since NASCAR ’15 back when the studio was under the name Dusenberry Martin Racing. The company renamed to 704 Games in 2017, and had been working with Monster Games since 2016.

As of writing, Monster Games has yet to reply to requests for comment on the matter. The studio has remained busy, however, with the aforementioned Tony Stewart’s Sprint Car Racing.

NASCAR Heat 4 is out now for PS4, Xbox One and PC. NASCAR Heat 5 is expected to launch later this year.
