In its latest patch, F1 2021 has temporarily removed its ray-tracing capabilities on PlayStation 5 to improve the game’s stability.

F1 2021 patch pulls ray-tracing on PS5

“We are aware of some instability within the game for a limited number of users on PS5 relating to Ray Tracing We aim to re-enable this as quickly as possible, and we will provide an update in due course.”

According to Codemasters, choosing to remove the feature was not easy. Despite, the removal, Codemasters aims to re-enable ray-tracing as soon as possible. In addition to PS5,  F1 2021 launched for PC and Xbox. Ray-tracing for the PC and Xbox Series X versions remain intact.

Codemasters did not provide a timeframe at this time. In addition, patch 1.04 also addresses an issue where users would experience a corrupt save when editing a vehicle’s livery from within the MyTeam HQ.  Previously corrupted saves as a result of this bug will be able to be resumed after applying the patch.
