Rumor: New Details About Upcoming Need For Speed

We’ve got some potentially new information about a future Need for Speed title today. This information about Electronic Arts’ newest racing game is coming from Reddit, so take it with a grain of salt. Last week Reddit user TopRamanNoodl3s has shared some info on EA’s next Need For Speed game. Through a friend who allegedly worked at EA, the source claims some significant changes are coming to the series’ look and direction, but will have some returning features.

If this information is true, it seems Electronic Arts is giving NFS a bit of a makeover. Historically, the series has featured some unrealistic scenarios, but nothing I’d consider cartoony. Hopefully, this is the new spin the franchise needs to compete with other racers like Forza and EA’s F1 series. Need for Speed has slowly declined since the glory days of Need for Speed Underground. The series received a reboot in 2015, but the game did not hit its full potential.

However, suppose you were worried about the future of the series. In that case, you’ll be happy to know that Codemasters and Criterion will work together to bring an exciting racing experience to fans.

Need For Speed’s Release Date

Earlier this year, Electronic Arts’ financial report revealed that the company’s latest Need For Speed game is slated for quarter three of EA’s fiscal year. This means the game could get a release date in late 2022 or early 2023. Nevertheless, when news drops about the newest Need For Speed game, you will hear about it on Sports Gamers Online.
