Today, Milestone announced the latest entry in their popular motorcycle simulation franchise with Ride 5. This will be the first entry in the series to be exclusive to the current generation of consoles. Ride 5 is set to release August 24, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Career Mode

Ride 5 will feature major improvements to the game’s career mode. For the first time in the series, the mode will feature a narrator to introduce the races and chronicle the player’s journey. The mode will also feature a new leaderboard to track your progress throughout the events.

The biggest addition to the mode are the 10 new rivals you will face off against. These new rivals are described as having “their own personalities, backgrounds, and distinctive looks.” You will have to be at the top of your game to beat out these rivals for the top spot on the leaderboard. The career mode will feature more than 200 totals event for you to complete.

Dynamic Weather

For the first time ever, the series will have a new dynamic weather system. This system will calculate track and air temperatures to create unique weather changes throughout the race. The sky will also look better in Ride 5. New 3D clouds will replace the previous 2D skies based on still photos. These new clouds will interact with the lighting as they change shape throughout the race.

Split-Screen & Cross-Play

Multiplayer will be accessible for everyone in Ride 5. Online, players will be able to join cross-play lobbies with other console or PC players. Local split-screen co-op will also be returning to the series for the first time since Ride 2. This will allow you to challenge your friends and family in person on the same screen.

Customization

The customization options have been expanded to allow players the ultimate freedom in Ride 5. The race creator will allow players to create unique scenarios, choose which bike types to allow, and customizing the scoring and rules systems.

New tools will help those new to the series find their footing. Helpful guides like assisted brakes, automatic steering, and others will help new players master the game before they know it.

Players will also be able to customize how their rider and bike look. Customizable bikes, riders, suits, and more help players tailor the look of almost everything they see. Players can then upload their creations to share with others online.
