As the conflict in Ukraine continues, companies continue to remove Russian assets, sponsors, and products. Today, Electronic Arts announced further actions in this regard. Last week, the American publisher removed all Russian football clubs from not only FIFA 22 but FIFA Online and FIFA Mobile. In a statement made by EA, the publisher said it had “actively evaluated” other changes to its games.
Well, EA kept its word, and FIFA 22 will now see the removal of Russian players, kits, and coaches from its Ultimate Team game mode. The announcement of the disposal of these Russian assets came via an in-game message on FIFA 22:
“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian People and, like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.”
What’s Being Removed From FIFA 22 Ultimate Team
I tried to get a screenshot of this message, but I didn’t receive it on my PlayStation due to my inactivity in FUT. However, I searched around a bit for the message and found what exactly will be removed from FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.
- Player Items from Russian clubs
- Kit Items from Russian clubs
- Stadia and Stadium Items from Russian clubs and the national team
- Russian Manager League Consumable Items
- Manager Items from the Russian Premier League
EA has said that players who have purchased Russian items in the mode can keep them; however, prices for these items will be fixed in the Market Place to prevent players from profiting from their scarcity.
