Today, Xbox announced the first new batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2024. This new slate of eight games is headlined by Super Mega Baseball 4, one of the best sports games to release in 2023. Along with this is a good mix of genres, from first-person shooters to open-world RPGs.
Coming to Game Pass
Super Mega Baseball 4 will join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC via EA Play on January 11. This game was one of the best sports games to release in 2023. We reviewed the game when it was released and loved it. The arcade gameplay mixed well with the fun presentation and incredibly replayable modes. If you haven’t had a chance to try this one out, make sure to download it when it gets added to Game Pass.
Among the other seven games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month is 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This game was the 12th major release in Ubisoft’s long-running historical action series. This entry featured a Viking protagonist set in the 870s AD. The game was released in November 2020 and served as a third-party launch title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This game will be added to Xbox Game Pass on January 9.
Speaking of popular games, Resident Evil 2(2019) is coming to Game Pass on January 16. This remake of the 1998 classic was an incredible success. The game was nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2019. As of June 2023, this was the highest-selling title in the entire Resident Evil franchise.
The rest of January will see Hell Let Loose (January 4), Figment (January 9), We Happy Few (January 11), and Those Who Remain (January 16) added to the service throughout the month. There will also be a handful of titles leaving Xbox Game Pass this month. Grand Theft Auto V, Garden Story, MotoGP 22, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable will all exit the service in January.
Where is Activision?
The big piece missing from this month’s additions to Xbox Game Pass are games from Activision Blizzard. Xbox finalized its acquisition of the developer in late 2023. Fans expected that we would soon see games from this studio eventually make their way to Xbox Game Pass. While this could still happen in the future, it looks like we will have to wait a little longer for that to happen.
