Since AEW Fight Forever‘s official reveal, fans have been waiting for news on when they can play the game. The release date of Yukes’ next wrestling game has been on the lips of many fans as 2023 moves into the summer. However, during AEW‘s recent pay-per-view event, the president of All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan, suggested that the game is finished and awaiting a release date. While this might excite fans, developers still think the game has a little way to go.

Tony Khan: AEW is Finished

During AEW‘s latest pay-per-view, Tony Khan suggested that AEW: Fight Forever is finished, and he can’t reveal a release date yet.

“I can’t say the exact release date,” Khan stated. “There’s a lot of things that go into that, and I don’t want to step on anybody with that. It is coming very soon. The game is finished.”

Usually, when a game has finished its development cycle, developers or publishers would announce it has “gone gold.” As of now, THQ Nordic or Yukes have not confirmed this, and the game is assumed to be in development.

Devs say the game is ‘unfinished’

Senior Community Manager at THQ Nordic has commented on rumors that suggest the game is finished.

I mean if you want an unfinished game sure we could release now 😆

The game is doing really well and is getting there, but not 100% yet, so yea just another rumour on twitter I fear 😔

“I mean if you want an unfinished game sure we could release now The game is doing really well and is getting there, but not 100% yet, so yea just another rumour on Twitter I fear.”

It’s clear that there is a bit of a disconnect between the AEW President and the dev team at Yukes. The developers will know exactly where the game stands regarding its completion and release date.

AEW: Fight Forever

AEW: Fight Forever is shaping up to be a fun alternative to WWE 2K series. While AEW won’t be as realistic as 2K’s wrestling game, it still looks like it will be fun and draw in its own audience.

AEW: Fight Forever is still awaiting a release date but will be available for PS5, PS4, Switch, the Xbox consoles, and PC.
