One of the biggest homegrown stars in the short history of AEW was wanted by THQ Nordic for AEW: Fight Forever promotional material. Sources have indicated that THQ Nordic was planning to utilize MJF not only as part of the game’s box art but as part of AEW: Fight Forever promotions as well.
MJF has been one of the biggest names in AEW since its inception, being a focal point of AEW programming for months. THQ Nordic, once it signed on to publish the game, felt his name would be great to have as a face and marketing push for the upcoming release.
That all changed once rumors circulated about MJF’s desire to remain with the company and his future status within AEW. MJF is nowhere to be found on the AEW: Fight Forever cover. And, as of writing, there has been nothing produced to showcase him as a feature star within the game during the buildup to its release. That could change should his status change moving forward.
AEW: Fight Forever is expected to launch later in 2022. It’ll be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game will feature a number of match types including Lights Out and Casino Battle Royals; it’ll also include over 40 weapons and a fully-featured story mode.
