When looking toward the future return of E3, we do not know much. However, we do know a few things from their announcement during covid restrictions and now, some revealed information regarding the event.

The return of E3 and what we know so far

The E3 live and in-person event aims to take place Tuesday, June 13, and continue through until Friday, June 16. In usual fashion, it is expected to be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California. In addition, the 2023 expo will be a business and consumer show. To mitigate problems of the previous formats, this time the first two days are only for the business. The third day is a business and consumer day. Lastly, the fourth day is purely for consumers.

With ReedPop now at the helm of production, the organizers of PAX and New York Comic Con, the event aims to deliver on some pretty admirable goals. With the 2023 return, the hope is to make the event a better business event, where attendees will find it easier to connect, meet, and conduct interviews. The same goes for the consumer experience, with activities and things actually listed for fans to do. Of course, this extends beyond the convention with an ultimate goal of supporting everyone announcing games in and around E3, regardless of proximity to the LACC.

Getting it done

To do this, LACC plans to split its focus with one half entirely dedicated to business, and the other to E3 as we all have come to know it. To accommodate quieter, more comfortable booths, with areas to connect and network, LACC hopes to re-open Kentia Hall. This will be exclusively for business attendees. During the first two days, GamesIndustry.biz plans to provide data, insight, interviews, and analysis direct to business attendees’ inboxes and in print. This takes place before, after, and during the show.

For the fans

As mentioned, the other half will focus on providing the spectacular E3 fans have come to enjoy. E3 invites consumers into the halls on that Thursday and Friday. The show will be more accessible for indie developers and publishers to showcase titles in the Concourse Hall. Furthermore, the Concourse will also be open to gamers and fans. In addition, The team is planning elements outside of the LACC. This includes game presentations fans can watch in-person or online during the final two days.

And that’s just the start. Hopefully, we will learn more in the months to come and be able to share the excitement with you.
