AEW Fight Forever Heads to Xbox Game Pass Day One

AEW Fight Forever

No doubt many are anticipating the launch of AEW’s Fight Forever video game. This marks the company’s first AAA game release, with several mobile games preceding it. And now, we have learned AEW Fight Forever launches day on Xbox Game Pass.

AEW Fight Forever releases Day One on Xbox Game Pass

AEW revealed their first console game over a year ago. Since then, we have seen several updates including bits of news, a few small roster reveals, and gameplay featuring stars like the then AEW Women’s Champion, Hikaru Shida, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, among several others. Another major milestone reveal happened back in August. AEW Fight Forever took Best Sports/Racing Game Award at Gamescom.

Following the interviews at Tokyo Game Show, there has been little else said regarding the game. Many speculate this is due to Kenny Omega’s suspension following the backstage altercations at AEW’s All Out event. For those who missed the news coming out of the Tokyo Game Show, THQ Nordic’s Japanese division posted information regarding what was discussed. This includes Yuke’s decision to hand animate the moves versus going full motion capture. This also includes the decision to revive the old Aki engine. Producers stated the is to make AEW Fight Forever the spiritual successor to WWF No Mercy. Additionally, AEW and Yukes touched on DLC but could not go into detail. The parties involved noted they looked to support the game well into the future. This may hint that future AEW games will not be annual launches.

Xbox Game Pass

While Amazon and other retailers still list a December 2022 release date, a THQ Nordic-affiliated site states a 2023 release window. Exactly when, we do not know. However, it has been reported that when the game does launch, it will head to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Subscribers with a valid Xbox Game Pass subscription will be able to step into the ring at no extra cost at launch.
