With the release of PGA Tour 2K23 on the horizon, we at SGO would be remiss not to catch people up on everything PGA Tour 2K23. So without further adieu, here is what we know about PGA Tour 2K23.

Tiger Woods on Both Covers

One of the greatest golf players of all time is gracing the covers of PGA 2K23. He’s a 15-time major winner. He owns a litany of records and is a certified Hall-of-Famer. So one would find it appropriate to have the legend dawn the covers.

PGA Tour 2K23 will also have a Deluxe Edition for $99.99 that gives players three day early access, a Michael Jordan Bonus Pack, a Deluxe Bonus Pack, Golden Club Pack, and dual-gen entitlement. According to the trailer, fans who purchase this version can access the game starting October 11. Those grabbing the standard edition will need to wait until October 14, just three days later.

A Multitude of Playable Golfers

This year, Tiger Woods isn’t the only playable licensed golfer. For the first time, PGA Tour 2K23 will have multiple playable pros in the game. There several golfers already confirmed. Among them, his Airness, Michael Jordan, will be playable.

The roster includes:

  • Justin Thomas
  • Lexi Thompson
  • Lydia Ko
  • Brooke Henderson
  • Will Zalatoris
  • Collin Morikawa
  • Tony Finau
  • Jon Rahm
  • Rickie Fowler
  • Justin Rose
  • Xander Schauffele

20 Playable courses

20 courses will be available at launch. 17 of them were in PGA Tour 2K21, and three are new courses. The confirmed list of courses includes:

  • Atlantic Beach Country Club
  • Bay Hill Golf Club & Lodge (Arnold Palmer Course)
  • Copperhead (Innisbrook)
  • Detroit Golf Club
  • East Lake Golf Club
  • Quail Hollow Club
  • Riviera Country Club
  • St George’s Golf and Country Club
  • The Renaissance Club
  • TPC Boston
  • TPC Deere Run
  • TPC Louisiana
  • TPC River Highlands
  • TPC San Antonio
  • TPC Sawgrass
  • TPC Scottsdale
  • TPC Southwind
  • TPC Summerlin
  • TPC Twin Cities
  • Wilmington Country Club (South Course)

In addition, players will have the ability to create their own courses. Players can unleash their creativity and create an 18-hole course that can be shared with the community. The creation suite is deep and detailed, so let your imaginations run wild.

Introducing the 3-Click Swing

PGA Tour 2K23 re-introduces a three-click swing. This will be an option alongside the modern PGA 2K stick swing. Depending on the platform, the player would hold A or X for power and tap it twice to line up your swing path and club face angle.

The presentation differs from the traditional 3-Click swing mechanic you might’ve seen in past golf games: you’ll see a circular power meter displayed as you take your stance, rather than a horizontal bar. Regardless of whether you’re hitting a normal iron shot, pitching, or chipping, the meter shape won’t change. You can look at the full breakdown here.

Become a Legend MyCareer

Players start their legend as a member of the Korn Ferry Tour and graduate to the competitive scene of the PGA Tour. With each tournament, you’ll be tested against the best talent on the planet, competing for FedExCup points and a shot at first place in the standings.

Multiplayer Options

Last year’s multiplayer featured the always chaotic Divot Derby, where players raced from the tee box to the pin as fast as they could to be dubbed victorious, along with Online Societies where you could challenge fellow players around the world in one- to four-day tournaments. These popular formats are returning in PGA Tour 2K23, along with traditional Stroke and Match Play—but we’re excited to welcome Topgolf into the fold.

Best enjoyed with friends and family, this real-life entertainment venue is now part of PGA Tour 2K23, where good times and laughs can be had locally or online. Step onto one of the many hitting bays solo or with up to three other players, and paint the glistening skyline with a barrage of white golf balls. Take turns hitting 10 balls each and try racking up points by aiming for the assortment of colorful circular and square targets. The player with the most points at the end of the round will be crowned victorious.

PGA Tour 2K23 will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam.
