It’s time to head back to the ice for EA Sports. On Wednesday, the NHL publisher revealed NHL 24 with a new trailer showing the game’s latest features. This year, NHL 24 is all about gameplay- with the introduction of the all-new Exhaust Engine, EA is ready to take it up a level with its new hockey title.
NHL 24: The Exhaust Engine
During the reveal trailer of NHL 24, EA showed off many new gameplay features that the Exhaust Engine powers. According to EA Sports, the new engine comprises Sustained Pressure and Goalie Fatigue systems.
These two systems working off each other create a new layer of authenticity for the NHL series. In the latest press release from EA Sports, the company’s creative director, Mike Inglehart, assured fans that the Exhaust Engine would bring a whole new level to the NHL series.
“This is a game made by hockey fans, for hockey fans, and bringing the full intensity of hockey to our gameplay was a major focus for us this year in NHL 24,” Mike Inglehart said.
“With the new Exhaust Engine system and gameplay features that capture the physical nature of hockey, NHL 24 delivers realistic body checks and a deeper defensive toolbox full of more choice and tactics that bring a whole new level of immersion to the franchise.”
Earlier this week, EA Sports announced that Colorado Avalanche player Cale Makar would grace the cover of NHL 24. Makar is one of the league’s most exciting players and has already accomplished so much in his young career.
“I am honored to be on the cover of EA SPORTS NHL,” said Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche. “NHL 24 represents everything I love about hockey – it is fast-paced, physical, and a lot of fun. I can’t wait for fans to get their hands on the game to feel the intensity of NHL 24 for themselves.”
NHL 24 will be available on October 6 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. You can check out the full trailer for the game here.
