It’s that time of the year again as Sony starts to ramp up the hype around another MLB The Show title. Last week, Sony teased the next cover reveal for its upcoming baseball game and asked fans to tune into Twitch on January 20th for the big announcement. On Tuesday, the publisher announced that the cover athlete for MLB The Show 24 will be Toronto Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Vladdy Jr, The MLB The Show 24 Cover Athlete

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. becomes the second Blue Jays player to grace the MLB The Show cover since Josh Donaldson in 2016. In addition, Guerrero Jr. is the first Blue Jay to win the Home Run Derby, which he won in 2023.

We at Sports Gamers Online speculated who the cover star would be in this year’s game. Our MLB expert, Brandon Satterwhite, thought José Ramírez would be a great shout. However, I thought the cover would be graced by a recently crowned World Series Champion like Corey Seager or Adolis García. Nevertheless, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is a great pick to represent this year’s game.

In addition to the cover athlete announcement, pre-orders for the game are officially live, and the game’s key features can be found on the official website. While they’re just small descriptions of the major features coming to MLB The Show 24, fans at least get a small idea of what to expect in this year’s game.

MLB The Show 24 will launch on March 19 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
