When Madden 22 was revealed on Thursday, one thing to come out was the decision from EA Sports to keep the PC version of the game on par with the last-gen product. The average gaming PC is equal to or more powerful than the new Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, yet new gameplay features aren’t a part of the version.

It left many fans scratching their heads, and us having to try and get clarification from the company on the matter.

After reaching out to EA Sports about the PC version of the game, the company was quick to clarify that the PC remains a focus for the future of the franchise.

“It’s something being explored for the future,” a rep from EA Sports said. “We’re still early in the transition to next-gen and right now the team is focused on making the best, quality experience on new consoles before looking to upgrade other platforms.”

Madden 22 marks the second Madden title to be available on the new platforms, but the first to have a full year cycle for development. Focus has been placed on improving the overall gameday and gameplay experience for players while also updating modes like Franchise across all platforms.

Does the decision to keep Madden 22 PC edition equal with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One change your purchase decision at all? Let us know in the comment section below, and stick with Sports Gamers Online for more information.

Flat out not purchasing this or any EA garbage because of how they disrespect the PC community. Its not like we get a full multiplayer experience anyways.. now they’re pushing people away. EA hires idiots exclusively.

I will not purchase Madden 22 at all. I was so disappointed after buying both playstation 3 and xbox 1 I made a decision never to buy another console system again. I then went and put together a PC that could play any game that I wanted old and new. I’ve been playing Madden since the very first installment of John Madden Football in 88 or 89 I can’t really remember what year it came out. Now the first Madden that I’ve been excited to play since Madden 99 and EA says that it wants to focus on the nex gen consoles. I’m done all together because since madden 2000, EA has never put all the things back into the game that they took out of the game on the first nex gen console playstation 2. EA you just lost a life time Madden player because you never really understand how to keep the people who made this title great. Go ahead and keep appealing to this new group of madden fans who like everything you do to the game but don’t like football. EA remember when it was in the game?

These new features Gameday Atmosphere, Gameday Momentum, and Next Gen Stats: Star-Driven AI from what I’ve researched are ridiculous anyway. If anything they make the game more unrealistic. I still plan to purchase PC version.

There is no excuse for this other than laziness and copy+pasting last year’s PC port. They had a whole dev year to do a very simple port job. This is yet another reason to boycott MADDEN. Someone else should be allowed to compete against EA and hold this game to the standards of past great football games.

Huge Madden fan but I only play on PC. There is no reason for me to buy the game if the new features aren’t included for the platform I play on. I will not be purchasing this.

You would think with all of the hardware tracking services out there on pc it would be a gimme, that at a certain threshold, next gen features would be available to pc players. I myself have a high end system. Now hearing that I would need to purchase a ps5 or an xsx, count me out. Really was looking forward to buying this as I was hoping the game had improved. Not anymore.
