Last week, Retrosoft Studios, the developer behind the upcoming RetroMania Wrestling announced the final launch roster for the game when it releases in July.

Rounding out the roster were former WWE superstars Matt Cardona, fka Zach Ryder, and Brian Myers, fka Curt Hawkins. For those unaware, both Cardona and Myers were released by WWE during a round of releases and furloughs back in April.

It didn’t take long, however, for both Cardona and Myers to land back in a wrestling ring. Virtually, that is.

“I was contacted by the people from RetroMania when Brian Myers and I got released,” Cardona said. “They knew the window to work with us would be short.”

As far as why sign to be in RetroMania, Cardona said a number of factors played into the decision, including his love for the original WrestleFest.

“I was a huge fan of the original WrestleFest arcade game and the nostalgia factor fits with The Major Wrestling Podcast brand,” he said. “It was perfect timing to sign on and be the final launch roster members.”

RetroMania Wrestling launches this July for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can also find The Major Wrestling Podcast on your favorite podcast platforms.
